Healthcare Company Shows it Cares
Update: Sadly, this business has closed, but its former owners still do their best to contribute with in-kind donations to Easter Seals (such as adult briefs, which were what was requested of us).
Peter Egan (http://peteregan.net/) founded EGAN Medical in January of 2011 on a shoestring budget, and with very few of the people surrounding him actually expecting his long-shot start-up company to last six months.
Peter had to close EGAN Medical in order to rejoin his father's home health and hospice company, EGAN Home Health and Hospice (http://eganhealthcare.com/)
More than 26 months later, EGAN Medical, now an online-only retailer with no formal brick-and-mortar presence, is still a relatively small firm, albeit one that is now established for the foreseeable future.
Mr. Egan attributes the company's success to the grace of God, and believes firmly that because he has been blessed, it is therefore his duty to do all he can for those in need.
In addition to adopting stray and abused dogs, he has begun a campaign to try to help people in need by donating products, offering them at cost when he cannot donate them and raising money for charitable organizations like Easterseals of Louisiana and Safe Harbor Northshore, for whom he built a daily online newspaper (http://www.safeharbortimes.com/) covering domestic violence and related topics with a fundraising feature built-in.
