Two out of three people with disabilities want to work, but have not been able to secure jobs because of accessibility and attitudinal barriers. Easter Seals workforce development services provide an individualized approach to assisting persons with disabilities and other needs to make informed choices and attain their employment aspirations. Easter Seals’ approach includes an array of services and supports that ultimately lead to employment. This approach is designed to identify goals, objectives, and planning needs, and providing the supports a person needs to achieve and maintain employment.

Workforce Development Services
As a long-term provider of Workforce Development services, annually Easter Seals assists 35,000 people with disabilities and other special needs overcome barriers to employment. At the same time,Easter Seals continues to be a pioneer in the field by developing innovative ways to help individuals achieve greater economic self-sufficiency and be more active in their communities.

Identify Your Job Skills and Interest
Through Easter Seals vocational evaluation and assessment services, individuals receive guidance regarding vocational options in developing their employment goals and objectives. Services may be provided at a community center, in the home, at school or in other community settings. Assessments range from a general assessment of skills and abilities, to a specific evaluation of a work setting.

As our world embraces technology, individuals with disabilities are benefiting from advances in assistive technology. Assistive technology includes equipment and services that allow individuals with disabilities to overcome barriers in the home, on the job, at school or just about anywhere.
